One of the most beautiful white village of the province of Málaga – Mijas, ancient Tamisa of the Romans and Mixa of the Muslims – is situated at the altitude of 425 m and therefore it has the spectacular views from any point of the village. We will start the visit with the Hermitage of Virgen de la Peña, where we find the image of the patron saint of the town. We will continue through the network of the narrow and winding streets to pass through the Municipal Museum, old Town Hall, which houses very interesting collection of popular art with utensils used for the production of olive oil, wine, raisins, etc…
Bullring of Mijas is the only rectangular bullring of Spain. We can observe how it adapted to the geomorphology of the terrain. Nearby we find the Church of the Immaculate and panoramic viewpoint, from where with clear days you can contemplate ancient Columns of Hercules : Gibraltar and Djebel Músá on the African continent.
Afterwards we will enter to the Contemporary Art Center, which houses very interesting collection of modern art : Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dalí, Joan Miró, Georges Braque,…
To conclude our visit of Mijas we will enter the chocolate workshop, where we will learn how to make a good artisanal chocolate with the possibility to make one according to our taste and preference.
Opportunity to make a donkey ride (tourist attraction of Mijas).
